The Best Free Weather Apps For iPhone For 2021

So you’ve got a new iPhone, and you want to download all the apps that you need on a day-to-day basis. And after downloading your favorite game, social media, and news apps, you got stuck in the weather apps category. Which one to choose? Many apps promise all kinds of stuff, but all you want is a simple and accurate weather app to be well equipped for the day.
And even though your iPhone will have a built-in weather app that’s, on the most part, pretty clean and good-looking, I find out that this app isn’t as accurate as some of the third-party weather app mentioned in this article. And besides, most third-party weather apps have additional features that come in very handy from time to time. So these are the best free weather apps for iPhone in 2021.
The Hurricane by American Red Cross

So I started this list with the Hurricane Weather app because it’s a great free app for those living in areas sensitive to hurricanes. This weather app is not like the traditional weather app you’re used to. Unlike the other ones, this app doesn’t inform you about the current temperature or if it’s going to rain on a particular day.
What this app does is sending you notifications every time a hurricane or a high-wind storm is likely to happen in your place. But what I love most about this app is that it automatically sends notifications to your friends and family to inform them about your safety. Other additional features in this weather app are the sounding of an alarm to let bystanders find you quickly and activate a flashlight to find your way in dark places.
Furthermore, the Hurricane weather app gives you up-to-date information to prepare you for an upcoming hurricane and how to behave after a storm has occured.
Weather Underground

Pros
Cons
You may have known that most weather apps retrieve their weather information from local and national weather stations. The Weather underground app does this as well, but they have a much more extensive network of weather stations from where they get their information.
Having an app in your pocket that’s this powerful can be a massive help, especially if you’re someone who is outside a lot. This app can give you accurate information about your local weather conditions and predict for up to 10 days in the feature of how the weather will look like.
The weather channel

Pros
Cons
The third free weather app that I like is the weather channel. This one works not only on your iPhone but also on an iPad and even on your Apple Watch. And just like the previous weather apps, the weather channel displays accurate local weather conditions on an hourly basis and forecasts up to 15 days in the future.
The Apple Watch weather channel app displays primary weather information, such as the chance of rain, the current temperature, the temperature of the coming days, the wind force, and the times of sunrise and sunset. The best part is that you can customize all this weather information that’s programmed in the Apple Watch. This way, you get only the weather information that is important for you.
You can even customize it that it notifies you about the start and end of pollen seasons and times when pollen levels are much higher than average.
One side note: even though this app might be free to use, it will display some ads, which can be annoying. The only way to get rid of these ads is by going for the paid version, which can be a good investment if you use the app daily.
My Moon Phase

Pros
Cons
My Moon Phase is a bit different than the previous weather apps. It’s mainly made for moon photographers who want to have a view of the lunar phase. This app helps you spotting the time when the moon rises and the different phases of the moon. Think about the New moon, first quarter, full moon, and last quarter phases. And if you’ve turned the push-up notifications on, you even get a note when the moon is in a particular phase.
AccuWeather

Pros
Cons
The last weather app in this list is the AccuWeather app. Just as the previous ones, this app offers a clean and easy-to-navigate interface with not much clutter.
One of the greatest features of this app is its maps. At first glance, you get to know what the future climate patterns are.
But this app is not entirely free, unfortunately. There is a pro version that you can get for $3.99. Upgrading to the pro allows you to get a 25-day weather forecast. Just keep in mind that a prediction of the weather 25 days in the feature will not be that accurate. Also, all those annoying ads will be removed. This will give you an even cleaner look as all that add clutter will not be on display.
