I bet you can’t remember the last time you’ve changed the date and time of your iPhone. I can’t remember either. The reason for this is because we rarely adjust this setting. Our iPhone can retrieve the correct time and date automatically with the help of the internet. By default, Apple has already turned on this option for us. But did you know that you can turn it off if you want to change the Date & Time of your iPhone? Well, the answer is Yes. How to do it? Simple, let me walk you through the steps in this article.

Be aware that changing your Date & Time can cause some problems, including but not limited to using Find my iPhone correctly, Downloading & Upgrading apps, having problems with making and receiving FaceTime calls, etc.
How to manually Change Date & Time on Your iPhone
Like I said, changing the Date & Time of your iPhone can cause some problems. Think of not being able to use Find My iPhone or not having your Apps upgraded automatically. Nevertheless, you can still change both the date and time of your iPhone if you want to. This is how you do it.
- First, go to your Settings.
- Then scroll down to General and tap on it.

Why can’t I turn off my set automatically Date & Time?
In some cases, your Set Automatically option can be grayed out, which means that you don’t have control over it. The reason for this can vary from situation to situation. So I’ve made a list of the most common causes for this problem. Here I explain two ways to solve the problem of not being able to turn on or off the option to set Date & Time automatically.
Turn Of Your Screen Time
Having your Screen Time turned on is one reason you might not be able to control your Set Automatically option in your Date & Time setting. So you need to turn it off before you can do anything in this setting.
The easiest way to turn off your Screen Time is by going to Settings > Scroll down to Screen Time and tap on it > Then scroll all the way down and tap on Turn Off Screen Time. In some cases, you need to enter your iPhone’s Passcode to proceed with this request.

You now can go back to your Date & Time setting to check if you’re able to adjust your Date & Time. If your Set Automatically is still grayed out, then you should check the following to solve this problem.
Reset All Settings
In most cases, the previous step is the solution for this problem, but you might still not be able to adjust your Date & Time setting for whatever reason. So if you still encounter this problem, then I would recommend you to Reset All Settings.
This way, your iPhone’s settings will go back to the factory settings. This means that your iPhone will behave just like it came right out of the box. But don’t get me wrong, Your iPhone will not erase your data if you proceed with this step. The only thing that will change is your customized setting, such as your font size, Sounds & Haptics, WiFi connections, etc. Your pictures, videos, messages, and all other data will remain untouched.
So Reset All Settings go to Settings > Scroll down to General > Tap on Reset > and tap on Reset All Settings. From this point, you just have to enter your Passcode, and the prompt to Reset All Settings will be displayed. After tapping on it, your iPhone will start resetting your settings back to the iPhone’s factory setting.
